Water Tiger is a collection of unique artworks based on the third animal in the Chinese Zodiac. The tiger is known as the king of all beasts, not only because of the Chinese character "王" (literally means "the king") but also because it is a symbol of bravery and power.
Drawing inspiration with the colours and floral pattern from our Royal Batik series, this collection has contemporary oriental batik motif elements that embody longevity, prosperity and good fortune. It is also designed to express adoration, sentimental attachment and well-wishes of health and happiness.
Water Tiger collection is available in 3 beautiful batik sets mixing navy-blue tiger print with traditional oriental paisley plant motifs.
Shòu 壽 (Longevity): While the tortoise or turtle is commonly a symbol of longevity, here it also symbolizes strength, power & protection for long life.
Fú 福 (Good fortune): One of the most popular characters used during the Chinese New Year. It is often posted upside down on the front door of a dwelling. The upside-down character fu means “good luck came” since the character representing “upside down” in Chinese sounds the same as “good luck has come.”
Lù 祿 (Prosperity): It is used to refer to an official’s salary in ancient China. Nowadays, it is commonly used in feng shui and is believed to be the Chinese way to health, wealth, and happiness.
The three auspicious words above are often used together considered the triplet of blessing in feng shui and indicate good luck, wealth, and long life.
